2010

2010 Start! Fit Friendly Workplace Gold Award
This is an exciting follow-up to our Fit For Life Wellness program which launched in 2008 and received the same designation from the American Heart Association in its first year of existence. Midwest has an all volunteer Wellness Committee that creates a variety of educational programs, competitions and team building events that revolve around getting and staying physically fit.

2010 AGC National Safety Competition - First Place
Midwest Mechanical Contractors-Kansas City was awarded First Place in the Associated General Contractors National Safety Competition on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the AGC National Convention. The award is for the Best Safety Program for subcontractors with between 300,001 and 700,000 hours. Over 250 contractors from around the country competed for this very prestigious award.

2010 The Builders’ Association Safety Excellence Awards Program
Midwest Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is being honored by the Kansas City Builders’ Association with the First Place Award in the Subcontractor Category 300,001 – 700,000 work hours.

2009

2009 National Best Contractor To Work For
On December 4th, Plumbing & Mechanical Magazine presented a plaque to Midwest Mechanical for being named "2009 Best National Contractor to Work For." Midwest will be featured as the cover story of the January 2010 issue of Plumbing & Mechanical Magazine.

Outstanding Mechanical Installation
On June 5, 2009, the Sanofi-Aventis Utility Plant Separation project was honored with an Outstanding Mechanical Installation (OMI) award by the Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City.

OSHA Build Safe Partnership Program
On February 17, 2009 Midwest was notified by The Builders' Association that we have successfully met the eligibility achievements of the U.S. Department of Labor - Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Build Safe Partnership Program (BSPP).

Occupational Excellence Achievement Award
On February 23, 2009, the National Safety Council notified Midwest that we have successfully met the criteria for the Occupational Excellence Achievement Award.

Ingram’s Magazine Best Places To Work In Kansas City
Midwest Mechanical was selected as a Medium-Sized Company “Best Place To Work For In Kansas City”.

National Safety Council Occupational Excellence Achievement Award

2008

American Heart Association: Start! Fit-Friendly Company: Gold Level Award
In October 2008, the American Heart Association designated Midwest Mechanical with two Start Fit-Friendly Company Awards. The first award, the Start! Fit-Friendly Gold Award, recognizes employers that champion the health of their employees and work to create a culture of physical activity in the workplace. To be considered for a Gold Award, an organization must implement at least six activities in the area of "physical activity", at least two "nutrition" activities and a least one "culture" activity.

American Heart Association: Start! Fit-Friendly Company: Workplace Innovation Award
The second award/designation by the American Heart Association is the Workplace Innovation Award. Midwest is one of only 35 companies nationwide to receive this designation and is the 1st to be honored in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This award/designation is given to a worksite/company that achieves all criteria for Gold recognition, plus demonstrates the development and implementation of innovative and effective efforts that promote physical activity specifically in the workplace.

Outstanding Mechanical Installation
In 2008, the University of Kansas Medical Center Biomedical Research Facility project was honored with an Outstanding Mechanical Installation (OMI) award by the Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City.
