Director of Pre-Construction Services Pamela J. Best, LEED® AP is re-appointed by Houston Mayor Bill White, to the City of Houston Mechanical Code Review Board of Directors. The Mechanical Code Review Board consists of 3 - 7 members nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the Houston City Council.
The Mechanical Code Review Board makes technical and administrative interpretations of the City Mechanical Code and hears appeals regarding the same. The board also reviews and approves new material presented to it; and makes recommendations to City Council regarding changes to the provisions of the City Mechanical Code pertaining to or affecting air conditioning, heating, ventilation or refrigeration.
Pam has served on this board continuously since 1995 with the exception of a brief period when she lived in Kansas City.

Midwest Mechanical Contractors will again host the 2nd Annual MCAA Student Summit pre-Summit tour at the 2009 MCAA Student Summit Conference in Denver, Colorado on Thursday, October 1st. Midwest will host a tour of the new Justice Center which is under construction and dinner for students the evening prior to the Opening events of the MCAA Student Summit.
Our partner for this event is U.S. Engineering in Denver, who is constructing the new Justice Center which includes courtrooms, offices, a detention center a U.S. Post Office and a parking garage. The Post Office and Parking Garage earned LEED® Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Four more Midwest personnel receive their LEED® AP credentials bringing our total number of LEED® AP's on staff to 27. Since 2005, when Midwest had our first Project Manager achieve this credential, we now have members of upper management, project management, estimating, our service division and field supervision that have achieved LEED® AP status.

Employees of Midwest Mechanical Contractors, Midwest Mechanical Service and our parent company, MMC Corp and representatives from some of our vendors took part in the American Heart Association Heart Walk on Saturday, May 30th at 9:00 a.m. at Theis Park, 47th & Oak, KCMO (3 blocks east of the Plaza!)
The American Heart Association honored those who have made positive changes in their lives to live happier, healthier lifestyles. Ultimately they want to eliminate heart disease and stroke. Companies submitted nominees for the “Lifestyle Change Award” and three top nominees were chosen and will be recognized at Saturday’s Start! Heart Walk.
Our own Dave Kroencke is one of three individuals recognized by the American Heart Association with a "Lifestyle Change Award". This is what our Wellness Program is all about! CONGRATULATIONS, DAVE!

Midwest Mechanical has recently been awarded several projects in the Kansas City area including the University of Kansas Applegate Energy Center Chiller project, Cardio Phase1 at Liberty Hospital the Jackson County, Missouri Detention Center renovations and a plumbing remodel project at DeLaSalle School.
