Meeting Rooms and Ballroom Expansion
As part of a phased project over a two-year period, Midwest Mechanical provided mechanical improvements to the Meeting Rooms and upgraded the HVAC on the city's convention center. Phase one was completed in just 121 days and included updates to all of the meeting rooms. Coordination between all trades was essential on this large project as there were 38 fims working on the project over the 2 year period.
Phase Two of the project included a 46,450 sf ballroom and public plaza addition immediately to the south of the existing Conference Center. The ballroom addition spans the 8-lane interstate that runs through the heart of downtown Kansas City. Working on a structure that spans an interstate provided a number of challenges on a tight schedule. The renovation and expansion project has achieved LEED Silver status.
