Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (S.I.R.E.)
100 MGY Ethanol Plant
In December 2007 Midwest Mechanical was awarded the contract for the first phase of the mechanical construction of the 100MGY S.I.R.E. plant. Midwest's scope of work included equipment setting, millwright work, piping fabrication and installation fo rthe Process building.
The piping portion of our contract included Mash Pre/Cook Area, Fermentation, Evaporation, Distillation, Tank Storage Area and other miscellaneous utilities that support the plant. Midwest was subsequently awarded equipment setting, vessel medai loading and other millwright packages in the Process Building along with the Cooling Tower and Water Treatment Building Phases of this project. All work was completed within 12 months. Midwest worked in conjunction with our Omaha office to divide the scope of work and take advantage of shared labor resources in the busy Iowa/Nebraska construction marketplace.
