Equipment Skid and Plumbing Fabrication
Large Pump Skid
This pump skid was assembled inside of Midwest Mechanical's 21,000+ sq. ft. fabrication shop in Kansas City, MO by our pipe fitters. The pump skid weighed nearly 32,000 pounds when completed and was assembled completely prior to shipping to the project in Miami, OK. The upper section of piping had to be disassembled in order to meet highway clearances of 3 bridges between Kansas City and Miami, OK. The entire shipment was loaded onto a lowboy and delivered to the jobsite where it was then lowered into place and final fittings were assembled.
The Condenser Water Pump Skid holding three 1,780-hp pumps and all associated pipe, values and gauges was delivered to the site approximately 2 weeks prior to installation. Midwest also fabricated a smaller Heating Hot Water Pump Skid that was shipped to the job site at the same time. Having the equipment skids on site allowed the fast track project to be completed slightly ahead of schedule. Additionally, Midwest plumbers fabricated the toilet batteries for the Casino restrooms and hotel, sending them to Miami, OK in several shipments. The casino opened on their original scheduled date, just 365 days after ground was broken.
