Pilot Plant Skid

Black & Veatch

Pilot Plant Skid

Black & Veatch engaged Midwest Mechanical to fabricate a pilot plant skid which will be used for testing a proprietary process to remove phosphorous from the discharge of the waste stream in wastewater treatment plants. This skid project included fabrication of vessels, equipment setting, fabrication and installation of the process piping, process controls installation, and all electrical work necessary to fabricate the two skids for this process.

The two skids are separable which will enable the client to set the pilot plant in various locations; they have one point utility and electrical connections for ease of use and portability at different facilities throughout the country.

This project was especially challenging in that it was constructed from a set of conceptual P&ID drawings, and was truly a design/build project. Mike Cecil, Project Manager Black & Veatch stated, “Black & Veatch and the end client are extremely pleased with the workmanship and quality of the end product in that it was constructed within budget and is performing flawlessly.”
