Plant Modernization
Midwest performed demolition, removal and relocation of existing equipment and related facilities; fabrication and erection of structural steel mezzanines and platforms; setting of production equipment including conveying systems; installation of process piping, electrical and sheet metal systems; insulation and painting in an overall effort to modernized the Torrance, California can manufacturing plant.
Two new lines, capable of producing 2,000 twelve-ounce cans per minute per line provide a total manufacturing capability of 2 billion cans per year.
Midwest completed the plant modernization project in 1997 without interruption to the overall production of the facility. Midwest has completed numerous projects for Reynolds Metals Company (also known as Ball Containers) in plants throughout the United States including Kansas City, Reidsville, NC San Francisco, CA Seattle, WA Bristol, VA and Tampa, FL.
