Health Sciences Building and Central Energy Plant

This facility provides 227,649 square feet of instructional, research and administrative/support office space in the Hospital Hill area of Kansas City for the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy, as well as the University’s Life Sciences partners. One of the goals of the project is to increase enrollment potential in the vital healthcare and healthcare research fields. With this new building, the School of Pharmacy will now achieve a nationwide top 10 pharmacy school ranking in federal funds and helps the School of Nursing triple the amount of extramural research it secures.

Midwest pre-fabricated a significant amount of the plumbing fixtures and large pump skids in our fabrication shop. By using our skilled staff of plumbers and pipe fitters in our fabrication shop and on-site, these components were ready to install as the individual floors became available for our work. Large equipment and large sections of pipe were hoisted to the necessary floors where installation could be completed saving significant time in the construction schedule.
